The Day’s Activities

The day’s activities are of course entirely at the whim of Their Royal Majesties; however, we foresee the following activities and where they might take place:

Morning Court – to be held in the Feast Hall.

Lunch – A lunch of burgers, soups, salads, and breads is to held during the mid part of the day, so as to allow the populace easy access to food without preparing it themselves or leaving site.  The lunch would most likely be prepared under the Bowery, within sight of the fighting field. In the event of inclement weather, lunch will be prepared under the porch of the Inclement Weather Hall, a few short steps from the fighting. Lunch is a Kingdom Fund Raiser, and all profits from the lunch go to the kingdom coffers.

Fighting – Marshallate activities are to be held in good weather on the Fighting Field, a flat, grassy area the size of a softball field (which is what it used to be) that is watered in the summer and mowed regularly.  There will be a pavilion near the field at the disposal of their Majesties to provide a suitable viewing area, and  numerous day shades and pennants will be up provide an appropriate festive scene for the occasion (and shade, should we have need of it). In the event of inclement weather, fighting is to be held in a large indoor area that is normally used to display items during the local county fair.

Peer Circles – Peer circles will be held at the discretion of Their Majesties.

Feast – a feast shall be held in the dining area. A potential menu is included on this website.  Feast shall be limited to the first 85 reservations. Reservations are required, though you need not pay in advance.  Contact Baroness Rebecca Chadderton for feast reservations.

Bardic - The competition for Bard of Artemisia will take place at Crown Tournament. Artists who wish to compete should prepare a presentation, up to 5 minutes in length. No documentation is required.  Contact Baroness Casamira either by e-mail (jeannecas at gmail.com) prior to the event, or catch her on the day of the event to secure a place on the list.  Presentations will take place during dinner or at their Majesties pleasure.

Evening Court – shall be held at Their Majesties whim in the feast hall.

Dance – Côte du Cielians love to dance, so after court, if there is time, the shire will organize dancing in the Feast Hall.

War Practice – Breakfast and War Practice shall be held starting at 9:00 (for breakfast) and 10:00 (for fighting) on the following day (Sunday) at the same field.
